Bold Penguin
INSURANCE TECHNOLOGY & QUOTING PLATFORM
At Bold Penguin, I led UX and product design for complex commercial insurance workflows used by agents, brokers, carriers, and internal teams. My work focused on making the quote-to-bind experience clearer, faster, and easier to navigate across intake, underwriting review, carrier appetite, quote comparison, binding, renewals, and operational workflows. I designed data-rich SaaS experiences that helped users move through complicated insurance decisions with better guidance, stronger information architecture, and more confidence at each step.
PROCESS SUMMARY
My design process at Bold Penguin centered on simplifying commercial insurance quote-and-bind workflows for agents, brokers, and internal teams. I worked across complex SaaS flows involving business intake, appetite matching, carrier submission, coverage selection, quote comparison, review states, missing information, and bind-ready actions. The process required translating dense underwriting rules, carrier requirements, operational constraints, and user needs into guided product experiences that made quoting faster, clearer, and easier to complete.
I partnered closely with product managers, engineers, business stakeholders, and insurance subject matter experts to define requirements, map workflows, design interaction patterns, and create reusable components for high-volume insurance workflows. Using Figma and established UX methods such as journey mapping, information architecture, prototyping, heuristic review, stakeholder feedback, and iterative design, I helped turn fragmented and error-prone insurance processes into more structured, scalable digital experiences. This work demonstrates my strength in designing complex B2B SaaS systems that balance speed, accuracy, compliance, and user control.
